Testimonials

“Empathetic, understanding, knowledgeable and experienced, Michelle is an excellent coach who is both personal and professional. A very useful outcome in our association has been the development of very useful tools which I now use consistently, such as a realistic decision making matrix. However, the key result in our coaching session was the setting of my priorities resulting in the rationalization of what is truly important in life.”

Jeff Ramseyer, Entrepreneur

Coaching with Michelle was like sitting quietly on top of a mountain looking at life, with someone right beside me, sharing in the view. Michelle was a witness to my experience of where I was and where I wanted to go. Her seeking to understand me and my essence first, then, through her profound questions, allowing me to excavate my way to my ultimate desires was one of the most valuable personal and professional experiences. Her coaching allowed me to step into a direction I wanted to go with a solid plan and utmost confidence with an incredible support system. She gave me tools to fall back on when I feel stuck! Michelle kept me on track in our sessions, reminded me of where I was headed. The “way” was easier when Michelle continued to shine the light when it was dark.

I genuinely feel that Michelle is invested in each and every coaching session. I appreciate her sincerity, honesty and ability to be direct. I have always embraced goal setting and follow up with creative planning, although I often struggle with executing my plans and can be easily distracted. With Michelle’s support and encouragement, I can move through my challenges, find solutions, and ultimately achieve my goals!

I was fortunate to work closely with Michelle as we both pursued our Executive Coaching credentials at Royal Roads University. Michelle’s coaching is founded in her genuine curiosity and skill in posing timely, rich questions. In our coaching relationship, she challenged me, waiting patiently for my readiness to respond to those challenges, to explore areas in myself that better my own coaching even today. That Michelle’s coaching can further enlighten the enlightened demonstrates the potential awaiting those who choose her as their coach.

I have worked in partnership with Michelle Royle on many occasions in the last 6 years and I believe she offers a very strong suite of leadership facilitation and coaching skills. As the Program Manager and Master Facilitator of multiple Leaders in Action programs (a 6 month integrated course of leadership development modules, 1:1 coaching and action learning projects for frontline leaders), Michelle demonstrated a keen understanding and skill of facilitating leadership development content with diverse groups, while also supporting individual participants to be accountable for their learning goals. Whether Michelle is facilitating large or small groups of leaders, she brings her combined talents of facilitation and coaching skills, to assist participants become self aware of their own strengths as well as opportunities to develop their leadership capacity to enhance their performance at work. Michelle was the first “professional listener” I had ever spoken too. About half way through my first session, once I realized that she wasn’t going to jump in and give me the right answer, or tell me what she would do in my situation, I began to see the brilliance of working with a talented coach. Through putting my concerns, excuses and frustrations into words and being challenged by Michelle to think them through to their logical conclusions, I quickly came to see that the barriers to progress I perceived in my organization and my role in it, were mostly in my head.

Michelle’s calm but firm coaching style helped my to set achievable goals and be accountable for reaching them. I could rely on Michelle to inspire me and lead me to new learning in every session, while remembering exactly what I’d said 3 sessions previously. Her coaching enabled me to finally focus on the parts of my job that I could control, to own my decisions and to not let stress over factors I could not control lessen my productivity. By sharing my learning with our management team at a time of leadership transition, Michelle’s coaching was of huge benefit to our organization as a whole.

Michelle Royle gets my highest recommendation as an executive coach. Her unique ability to recognize, understand and ask difficult questions has revolutionized my thinking, and most importantly, my actions. Throughout our coaching relationship, there were some surprising (and sometimes painful) personal realizations, but Michelle’s coaching helped me to be a better person every day, both at work and at home. Michelle will not hesitate to tactfully, but directly point out areas or ideas that need to be considered a different way, and proved to be right 100% of the time with her observations and insights.
